Welders Helper
Job Description
Job Overview:
The Welder’s Helper supports rig welders by assisting with welding operations, equipment preparation, and job site organization. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their welding experience while working in demanding environments. The Welder’s Helper will assist with structural steel and pipe welding tasks while following all safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist rig welders with welding tasks on pipelines, structural frameworks, and metal components
Prepare materials, tools, and equipment needed for welding operations
Hold, position, and secure materials during welding activities
Clean, grind, and prepare surfaces before and after welding
Assist with basic inspections of welds to ensure quality standards are met
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Help maintain welding equipment and report any issues to supervisors
Support team members to meet project timelines and job requirements
Assist with troubleshooting basic issues related to welding processes
Communicate effectively with welders and supervisors on job progress
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience as a welder’s helper or in a welding/industrial environment preferred
Basic knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) a plus
Familiarity with welding safety practices and job site protocols
Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
Willingness to work in physically demanding and challenging environments
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required
Welding certifications are a plus but not required
