Service Technician

Location: Tulare, CA

Schedule: Full-Time

Pay: $25.00/hr 

Position Summary

Our client, a leading dairy equipment sales and service company serving the Central Valley, is seeking a mechanically inclined Mechanic/Service Technician to join their team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing dairy feeding equipment and related agricultural machinery both in the shop and at customer locations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working with equipment, machinery, hydraulics, and drive systems. While welding experience is beneficial, our client is primarily seeking individuals with a solid mechanical background and the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on dairy and agricultural equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on feed mixers, delivery systems, augers, and related machinery.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
• Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic hoses, cylinders, and other components.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify necessary repairs.
• Perform field service repairs at customer locations as needed.
• Complete equipment setup, assembly, and testing.
• Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues and repair recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• Experience repairing agricultural, industrial, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, or related machinery preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, drive systems, bearings, chains, gearboxes, and mechanical components.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on mechanical experience are more important than welding experience alone. Individuals who can independently identify problems, determine root causes, and complete quality repairs will be highly successful in this role.
