Job Title: Rig Welder

Location: Company located in Bakersfield, Ca. Various project sites across California (San Diego to Redding) – Must be willing to travel
(Per diem provided for hotel stays & mileage reimbursement available)

Pay: $35 - $45 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary:

Key Staffing is seeking experienced Rig Welders to join our client for project-based work across California. This position requires highly skilled welders with prior experience in power plants and the oil & gas industry, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to perform high-quality welds in demanding environments. Candidates must have their own rig and be willing to travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural and pipe welding on power plant and refinery equipment.
• Conduct welding in various positions, including overhead, vertical, and confined spaces.
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials according to project requirements.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair metal structures, pipelines, and industrial components.
• Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Travel to different job sites across California as needed for project-based work.
• Maintain equipment and ensure welding rig is in safe and operational condition.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of rig welding experience in power plants and/or the oil & gas industry.
• Certifications: Confined Space Training is required. Additional welding certifications (AWS, ASME) are preferred.
• Equipment: Must have own welding rig in safe working condition.
• Longevity: Stable work history with strong references.
• Travel Ability: Willingness to travel throughout California for project-based work.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Safety Compliance: Must adhere to all job site safety policies and procedures.

Dress Code / PPE Requirements:

• Mandatory: Hard hat (in good condition), safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, pants, and steel-toe boots.
• Recommended: Bring gloves if available.
