Job Description
Key Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced RTE Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our clients processing and manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production, adherence to the highest quality standards, and compliance with food safety regulations. As a key leader in our team, the RTE Production Manager will drive operational excellence, optimize production processes, and foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Manage and oversee all aspects of food processing and manufacturing, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet company and regulatory quality standards, implementing best practices for quality control.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with food safety regulations both internal and mandated by BRC, AIB, and FDA.
- Training & Development: Routinely hold training sessions for staff to ensure knowledge of safety protocols, proper handling of food products, and adherence to operational standards. Maintain records for all training as required.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory teams and other necessary personnel to ensure the availability of raw materials and manage inventory levels effectively. Including but not limited to raw ingredients, packaging materials, tool’s and general supplies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, challenges, and progress toward goals.
- Process Optimization: Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Budget Planning: Analyze production and budget data to identify key areas of waste to reduce overhead cost.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Follow all company safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by company/director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hires, and trains new employees.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
- Reviews and approved timecards properly.
- Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture.
- Partners with food safety and quality to promote a quality first mindset.
- Works with Human Resources to handle employee discipline in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinate with 3rd party vendors for materials and supplies.
- Recording keeping
- New product development and procurement.
Skill and Ability Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Ready-To-Eat (RTE) best practices.
- Strong knowledge of pasteurization process and record keeping.
- Proficient in using manufacturing and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of planning and organizing.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality regulations.

- Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in food manufacturing or processing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
