Job Title: Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Company located in Bakersfield, Ca. Various project sites across California (San Diego to Redding) – Must be willing to travel
(Per diem provided for hotel stays & mileage reimbursement available)

Pay: $25 - $40 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary:

Key Staffing is seeking experienced Power Plant Maintenance Mechanics to join our client for project-based work across California. This role requires skilled mechanics with a strong background in power plant maintenance and the oil & gas industry. Candidates must be flexible with travel, safety-conscious, and prepared to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of power plant equipment, including turbines, pumps, compressors, generators, and other mechanical systems.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
• Work with a team to complete scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks within project timelines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including confined space entry and proper use of PPE.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years as a maintenance mechanic in power plants and/or the oil & gas industry.
• Certifications: Confirmed Confined Space Training is required.
• Travel Ability: Willingness to travel throughout California for projects is required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Safety Compliance: Must adhere to all site-specific safety policies and procedures.

Dress Code / PPE Requirements:

• Mandatory: Hard hat (in good condition), safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, pants, and steel-toe boots.
• Recommended: Bring gloves if available.
