Job Summary:
The Power Plant Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of various mechanical systems and equipment within a power plant facility. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of power generation equipment. The Power Plant Mechanic will collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and operators to maintain optimal plant performance.
Job Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair piping, pumps, valves, fans, dryers, conveyors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Rebuilds equipment to new.
- Performs Pipefitting
- Responsible for the installation, disassembly, and repair of large-capacity machinery
- Pump and motor alignments
- Bearing changeouts
- Troubleshooting
- Concrete
- Safety Procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of power plant mechanical experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Technical understanding of power plant operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Knowledge of lockout and tag-out procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical concepts and proficiency in using precision instruments.
- Manipulate hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic pullers, hydraulic/hand presses, torches, and balance machines.
