Payroll Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish) – Temp to Hire
Location: Delano, CA
On-site | Monday–Friday | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $22 - $25/hr. DOE
Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Payroll Specialist to join a well-established organization in the Delano area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering a steady weekday schedule with a supportive team and long-term growth potential.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent Excel skills, and can communicate fluently in both English and Spanish to support a diverse employee base.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process electronic and paper timecards for payroll accuracy
Enter payroll data, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare pay batches
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and wage garnishments
Process final checks for terminations in coordination with HR
Maintain personnel files and ensure records are audit-ready
Run reports on attendance, vacation, and sick balances
Support with audits, reporting, and legal documentation requests
Assist with Personnel Action Forms and other HR updates
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bilingual in English & Spanish (required)
Minimum 2 years of payroll experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including: Pivot Tables, VLookup, SUMIF)
High School diploma required; some college coursework preferred
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
Familiarity with wage & hour laws
Experience with HRIS systems like ADP or Paylocity is a plus (but not required – will train)
Strong sense of professionalism and ability to work with executive teams
