About the Position:
Key Staffing is actively hiring a Crane Rigger for a well-established company in the lumber and building materials industry (client confidential). This position supports daily yard operations by safely rigging and securing materials for crane lifting, moving, and loading. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working in an outdoor lumber yard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely rig, attach, and secure loads for crane operations.
• Inspect rigging equipment such as slings, chains, hooks, and straps before use.
• Communicate and signal effectively with the crane operator to ensure safe material handling.
• Assist with loading and unloading lumber, building materials, and related products.
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company guidelines.
• Conduct visual inspections to verify load stability and proper weight distribution.
• Perform general yard duties as assigned, which may include stacking, sorting, or organizing materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Rigger, Crane Rigger, or in a similar material-handling role preferred.
• Knowledge of proper rigging practices and load-securing techniques.
• Ability to read hand signals and communicate clearly with crane operators.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in a lumber yard environment.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Dependability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
