Mechanic
Job Description
Location: Delano, CA
Pay: $32 – $34/hr
Schedule: 40+ hours weekly; overtime, nights, and weekends as needed during peak seasons

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment used throughout citrus orchards. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical skills, field repair experience, and the flexibility to support urgent repairs during peak seasons.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines
- Perform maintenance and repairs on tractors, ATVs, implements, water pumps, and farm equipment
- Service equipment including brakes, A/C, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, and suspensions
- Perform basic welding, hydraulic repairs, and electrical troubleshooting
- Complete field repairs throughout orchards as needed
- Support wind machines and emergency repairs during winter season
- Create a weekly repair and service schedule based on equipment needs
- Maintain punctuality, work safely, and take ownership of repair quality
- Use proactive problem-solving and common sense when handling equipment issues
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on gas and diesel engines
- Basic welding knowledge required
- Must own and maintain a personal set of essential tools
- Valid and clean Class C driver’s license
- High school diploma preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Must be reliable and flexible for overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to safely operate an ATV
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Frequent standing, walking, balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and use of both hands
- Work is performed in farm areas and orchards
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in extreme heat, cold, humidity, dust, and muddy conditions
