Job Description
Position Overview:
The Metal CNC Lathe Operator will set up, operate, and maintain computer numerical control (CNC) lathes to produce precision metal components according to specifications. This role is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, monitoring machine operations, and performing quality inspections to ensure products meet strict tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes to produce metal components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders to ensure precise machining operations.
Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job.
Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
Requirements / Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC operation preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating CNC lathes or similar precision machining equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
Proficient with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining parameters.
Hands-on experience performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
