Job Description
Key Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Maintenance professional to oversee and coordinate maintenance activities within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial maintenance and electrical systems, with the ability to lead a team effectively. This role requires hands-on expertise in various maintenance tasks, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a maintenance tech without supervision.
- Performs shut down, start-ups and cleaning of equipment.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
- Performs preventive building maintenance duties and repairs including routine plumbing repairs, and routine electrical repairs.
- Diagnose issues to prevent loss in efficiency and reliability to achieve scheduled production. Assist in root cause analysis for CCP and non CCP equipment failures.
- Monitor and adjust production flows, rates, temperatures, viscosity, and line pressure.
- Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
- Ensure optimum machinery functionality for product quality.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Fills out documentation accurately, detailed, and on time.
- Communicate and work effectively with all levels of employees within and outside of the maintenance team.
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Employee Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist other Maintenance Technicians (breakdowns, line maintenance, equipment upgrades).
- Assists sanitation with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly maintenance shop and workstation.
Lead Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all tasks performed during the assigned shift.
- Train all maintenance technicians on essential duties.
- Takes initiative to plan, execute, and complete all maintenance tasks.
- Works jointly with inventory coordinator to keep essentials parts in stock.
- Coordinate with third party vendors, services, special projects, or repairs.
- Effectively dispatch maintenance techs to call based on priorities.
- Review daily work orders with maintenance techs and give feedback as needed.
- Complete detailed pass down at the end of each shift.
- Coordinate completion of internal audit corrective actions through root cause analysis.
- Point out employee safety hazards and enforce corrections.
- Maintain and inspect work tools for self and team members.
- Distribute PMs to maintenance technicians.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Escalate downtime to Supervisors and Managers.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of a variety of Industrial maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance, machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skill in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.
- Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Skill in using hand and power tools. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability and willingness to assist all departments in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the entire facility.
- Ability to communicate through email and/or radio calls.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- High School diploma or GED
- Three (3) years Industrial maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 2 – 3 years in industrial maintenance and repair for bucket elevators, chain-vey, conveyors, bin dumps, pasteurizer, roasters, color sorter, etc.
