Job Description

Key Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Lead Hydraulic Mechanic to join our team. In this leadership role, you will oversee and execute tasks including cleaning, disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly, and testing to ensure the production of high-quality repaired hydraulic products. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform skilled operations such as cleaning, disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly, and testing.
  • Assemble, modify, rework, and reassemble components using drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and verbal instructions.
  • Utilize basic hand tools and machines including power screwdrivers, calipers, pressure gauges, oxy-acetylene welding equipment, hydraulic test stands, solder irons, heat guns, vises, solder pots, hydraulic hose crimpers, arbor presses, band saws, and automatic wire strippers.
  • Ensure parts are cleaned prior to use as needed.
  • Identify wires using basic color code sequences.
  • Identify fitting types and plumbing sizes, including NPT, SAE, JIC, and metric systems.
  • Manage inventory handling and transactions following established procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and team-building activities.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of industry standards, machinery, techniques, and safety regulations related to hydraulics.
  • Assist with identifying parts and bills of material.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain records of customer and supplier correspondence.
  • Oversee clean-up and tool inventory activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to read and understand work instructions, schematics, and assembly drawings.
  • Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective management of priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working within constantly changing priorities.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Thorough understanding of safety requirements and cautions related to hydraulics.
