Key Staffing is currently recruiting for a Junior Controller / Senior Staff Accountant on behalf of a well-established, financially stable organization experiencing continued growth. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in a major financial systems transformation while working alongside an experienced finance leadership team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, improving financial processes, and taking ownership of high-impact projects. While this assignment begins as a project-based role, there is strong potential for it to transition into a permanent leadership opportunity within the Finance Department.

Position Summary

The primary focus of this role is to lead the migration of financial data from QuickBooks to NetSuite, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of historical financial records throughout the implementation process. You will work closely with finance leadership, internal stakeholders, and the NetSuite implementation team to support a seamless ERP conversion while maintaining day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

Although prior NetSuite experience is preferred, it is not required. The company has an internal implementation lead who will provide training and guidance throughout the transition.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting data migration from QuickBooks to NetSuite.

• Review, reconcile, and validate approximately two years of accrual-based financial records prior to ERP conversion.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of historical accounting data throughout the implementation process.

• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.

• Perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

• Analyze financial statements and investigate accounting discrepancies.

• Collaborate with finance leadership, IT personnel, and ERP implementation partners.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls.

• Support financial reporting and other special accounting projects as assigned.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks.

• Strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting.

• Experience performing complex account reconciliations and maintaining a general ledger.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience participating in an ERP implementation or accounting software conversion.

• Exposure to NetSuite (training will be provided if needed).

• CPA or active pursuit of CPA designation.

• Experience within a mid-sized or large corporate accounting environment.
