Job Description
Key Staffing is hiring for an Inside Sales Representative to support our clients outside sales personnel and the Company’s general sales activities by receiving requests and handling questions (by mail, phone, fax or email) concerning application information, engine specifications, quotations, orders, and lead times from end users, John Deere dealers, irrigation and service dealers for John Deere, Funk, Yanmar, Origin and other products and services that the Company may add from time-to-time. Uses ASPEN to organize contact and customer relationship data, submitted by Territory Managers, and supports marketing campaigns as directed by the General Sales Manager.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receives requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from domestic customers, original equipment manufacturers, and dealers. Provides quotations on standard configuration engines or power units as required by Territory Managers, takes information for and communicates with Territory Managers, submits orders in ASPEN, and relays pertinent order information to customers. Provides engine configuration, technical specifications, and marketing documentation as required. Coordinates with other departments in handling purchase orders and related pre-and post-shipment documentation, taking care to keep the ASPEN system current.
- Contributes to the Company’s efforts to maintain excellent customer relations and works to give them the best possible service, including remaining flexible to “do what it takes” even if that requires tasks not in this job description. Normal contacts include Company, customer, and supplier personnel. Expected to deal with matters that require tact and resourcefulness.
- Follows up on inquiries and outstanding orders by phoning suppliers or checking online systems for delivery information and communicating the same to customers and Territory Managers. Works closely with Territory Managers, supplier contacts, WPP dealers, and WPP department managers regarding deliveries or scheduled completions and corrects shipment errors (incorrect material, improper or incomplete assembly, etc.) to ensure problems do not repeat.
- Maintains competency in all JDPS and Funk system configurators and WPP’s ASPEN quotation and customer management software modules and uses these and other tools as necessary to retrieve specifications, engine , and customer information, check stock status, and the status of engine purchase orders.
- Handles the needs of Territory Managers assigned by the General Sales Manager to current WPP sales territories and the Company’s assigned areas of responsibility. These territories and AORs may change from time to time or vary by supplier.
- Fulfills customer emissions regulation documentation requests (engine code sheets, EPA/CARB certifications, executive orders, etc), and refers customers to the Company’s principal advisor, Emissions Regulations with questions on Carl Moyer or other funding programs or emissions questions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains Sales/Specification/Promotional Material for the branch. Advises the Company’s Business Support Manager when new material needs to be ordered.
- Coordinates activities for Trade Shows, Distributor/Dealer meetings or other marketing activities under the direction of the Business Support Manager and/or General Sales Manager.
- Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
- Maintains paperwork or process flow in ASPEN (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memos) to be given to the accounting department to maintain proper whole goods order documentation for credit or debit to be issued.
- Checks with the Bakersfield office manager concerning credit status of customer when rush orders are received and communicates same to the responsible Territory Manager.
- Assists the Branch Manager as requested in providing for maintenance and upkeep of Woodland facilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have technical/mechanical aptitude, good communication skills across all levels of organization, good telephone techniques, and basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Background in agricultural, industrial, and/or construction equipment applications preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. The background should include a demonstrated ability to deal with customers.
- Able to operate a desktop computer. Ambulatory and able to inspect units in the shop to verify configuration and level of completion. Able to lift 40 lbs. to chest level to set up displays and literature racks.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be bondable.
