Position Overview

Key Staffing is currently recruiting for an Industrial Forklift Operator to join a well-established industrial services company supporting oilfield and tubular operations. This position is responsible for safely operating large-capacity industrial forklifts to move, load, unload, and stage pipe, tubing, and other heavy materials throughout the yard while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

The ideal candidate has experience operating industrial forklifts in an outdoor yard environment, is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working around heavy equipment in a fast-paced setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate large-capacity industrial forklifts to transport pipe, tubing, steel, and other oversized materials.
• Load and unload flatbed trucks, trailers, and customer vehicles while ensuring proper load securement.
• Stage, organize, and move materials throughout the yard to support daily operations.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage and verify quantities as needed.
• Assist with inventory control and maintain organized storage areas.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip forklift inspections and report equipment concerns promptly.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations while operating equipment.
• Work closely with yard personnel and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow.
• Assist with general yard duties, housekeeping, and material handling as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating industrial forklifts in an industrial, pipe yard, steel yard, lumber yard, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred.
• Experience handling long, oversized, or heavy materials is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of safe load handling and forklift operating procedures.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to safely operate industrial forklifts throughout the workday.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Must successfully pass all pre-employment screenings, including a background check and drug screening.
