Human Resources Generalist / HR Manager (Restoration Industry)

Location: Visalia, CA (Primary) + oversight of Atwater, CA
Pay: $30–$35/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Human Resources professional to support a growing restoration company with operations in Visalia and Atwater, CA. This individual will serve as the sole HR representative for the organization, supporting a workforce of approximately 30–40 employees, with continued growth expected as the second location becomes fully operational.

This is a hands-on role responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, including compliance, employee relations, onboarding, payroll coordination, and collaboration with legal counsel. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, highly organized, and experienced in managing HR functions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle Human Resources operations for two locations (Visalia & Atwater)
• Manage onboarding, new hire paperwork, and compliance documentation (including disclosures)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters
• Partner with company leadership and legal counsel to ensure compliance with California labor laws and employment practices
• Maintain and update employee records, policies, and HR procedures
• Administer payroll processes and support HRIS systems, including ADP and QuickBooks
• Support performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Assist in building and maintaining a positive workplace culture across both locations
• Travel occasionally between Visalia and Atwater locations as needed

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
• Minimum of 5+ years of Human Resources experience
• Experience working as a standalone or sole HR professional strongly preferred
• Proficiency with ADP and QuickBooks
• Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
