Job Title: General Labor – Rig Hand

Location: Company located in Bakersfield, Ca. Various project sites across California (San Diego to Redding) – Must be willing to travel
(Per diem provided for hotel stays & mileage reimbursement available) 

Pay: $18 - $23 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary:

Key Staffing is seeking General Labor Rig Hands to support industrial welding and maintenance projects for our client across California. This position requires physically capable, safety-conscious individuals who can assist welders, operate tools, and perform general labor duties at power plants and oil & gas facilities. Candidates must be willing to travel and work in a demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist welders and mechanics by setting up and breaking down work areas.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites as needed.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including confined space procedures and PPE usage.
• Support general labor tasks such as grinding, lifting, and positioning materials.
• Perform heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces as required.

Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience in industrial labor, rigging, or assisting welders is preferred.
• Certifications: Confined Space Training is required.
• Travel Ability: Must be willing to travel throughout California for project-based work.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
• Work Ethic: Must be dependable, hardworking, and able to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Safety Compliance: Must adhere to OSHA regulations and all job site safety policies.

Dress Code / PPE Requirements:

• Mandatory: Hard hat (in good condition), safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, pants, and steel-toe boots.
• Recommended: Bring gloves if available.
